Project 9: Book Bags of Blessings - Indonesia

Children living in poor communities within the crowded capital of Indonesia - Jakarta, received bags of blessings with needed school supplies, living essentials and other special goodies. Their school bags have never been so full with all the tools they need to go to attend classes.

Children make up 29% of the total population for greater Jakarta, the bustling capital city situated on the island of Java within the archipelago that make up Indonesia. At least 5% of these children live below the poverty line (where the family income is less than $2 a day). This poverty becomes a barrier to education as these families simply cannot afford what’s required to attend school.

We teamed up with Calvary Ministry to distribute 350 book bags filled with school supplies so these children have what they need to attend their classes for the year.

For the cost of less than a cellphone cover, we can fill up a book bag containing essential items and open the door to education for poor children living in slum communities in Jakarta.
