Project 7: Warm Wishes - Baltimore
Collaborating with Project Wish List Baltimore, we made enduring the chilling winter more bearable for 200 homeless people by distributing warmth packages containing blankets and clothing along with other supplies to warm and comfort their hearts.
On any given day, more than 2,000 people experience homelessness in Baltimore City and almost half of the general population of Baltimore live below the federal poverty line. This reflects something more about the wider economic landscape of the area and although there are several homeless shelters operating, there are still not enough resources to go around.
Blizzard-like winters mean months of battling freezing temperatures and trying to stay warm on a minuscule budget for Baltimore’s homeless population. But despite cold hands, there is always a way to find warm hearts.
