For Project 62, we are supporting Shining Hope Farms with their yearly operational costs, with a special focus on their Saddle and Salutes Program. This program uses equine-assisted therapy (horse therapy) to help veterans cope with anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Through this program, veterans learn riding and horsemanship skills in a safe, consistent environment, aiding their transition from military to civilian life.

“Why horses?” you ask. Spending time with horses has been found to reduce anxiety and stress, creating a sense of peace and contentment. The unique, non-judgmental relationship veterans build with their horses aids in emotional healing. Therapeutic horse riding also improves physical health and cognitive abilities, such as fine motor skills, memory, and sensory processing, providing veterans with meaningful weekly activities and good memories. Lastly, group riding sessions facilitate bonding among fellow veterans and have proven effective in reducing PTSD symptoms.

By supporting Shining Hope Farms, we ensure their programs remain accessible to all veterans who need them. This enables their team to focus on delivering therapy that promotes healing and community integration.

Donate to Project 62 today and give the brave men and women who have served our country the peace, support, and connection they need to thrive as they reintegrate into civilian life.
