Imagine a child never hearing a mother’s voice, the laughter of others, or the bliss of music and sounds of nature- this is the reality of being born deaf. Throw poverty into the picture and a child’s chance at treatment is almost minimal. That’s where Parsons Ministries and Mite come in!

Parsons Ministries operates a self-supported medical mission that does outreach around the world. With the help of volunteer doctors, dentists, nurses, and other medical professionals who support their own costs to travel to remote areas and conduct much-needed medical clinics, surgeries, and training. Parsons touches the lives of thousands.  Mite had the opportunity to join them on one of these outreach missions and give the gift of hearing to 35 hearing-impaired children and adults- some who were born deaf and have never heard sound before…can you imagine!

It costs thousands of dollars to get a pair of battery-powered hearing aids in the United States. Using conventionally powered hearing aids in developing nations like Honduras is costly and not a viable answer because of the high expense of batteries and maintenance. Solar-powered hearing aids reduce those costs by as much as 86 percent, drastically increasing the feasibility and availability of hearing aid treatment in developing countries.

For only $125 per pair, we will give a deaf child a brand new set of solar-powered hearing aids. This is a remarkable solution that is not only cost-effective and sustainable but will help people with a hearing disability to participate more fully in life now that they can hear.  We feel so privileged to partner with Parsons Ministres for this fantastic initiative and are looking forward to your support to help us make it happen.
