We collaborated with the Carolina Refugee Resettlement Agency and Catholic Charities to distribute 500 pairs of new shoes and socks, personal care items and a note of hope to refugee families in the Charlotte, North Carolina area.

According to an article entitled Champions for Kids- the Top 10 Items Schools Need You to Donate, in the United States nurses report that shoes and socks are in the top 5 stems School needs. Refugee families were have been displaced struggle financially and often cannot afford many items that we take for granted- like footwear.

In response, Mite partnered with Samaritan’s Feet, an organization dedicated to providing shoes for families in need worldwide. Samaritan’s Feet is a nonprofit that serves and inspires hope in children by providing shoes. They believe that a new pair of shoes is the foundation of hope and opportunity for a better life and avoids the risk of contracting foot-bourne diseases. We want to contribute to creating a world with zero shoeless children!
