Ready to be generous

1 min read

Being generous involves being ready to give.

Showing a readiness to give more of something, as money or time, than is strictly necessary or expected Generous

The definition of generous actually specifies a "readiness to give." That statement defines Mite's community of givers. Miters are generous, standing ready to give. They give because being generous is fulfilling. This is how our generous donors are - at their core.

To clarify, generosity toward anything is not what we're talking about. Giving to people who don't need help is not compelling. Being generous to a large organization sufficiently funded to accomplish its purpose is not exciting. But finding the right project that touches the lives of people who would otherwise be left in need, well, you got our attention.

Mite actively researches and discovers those projects that our generous community of givers will find compelling and fulfilling. Every day we work to bring Miters the next opportunity to be generous. We believe that generous living is not something that you just fall into. It does not just come to you because you have lots of money or time. Generosity is something that is worked at and nurtured in your life. Generous living is taught and learned, passed on from one generation to the next. It is purposeful both in action and in experience.

Generous living is available to everybody. You don't have to be wealthy to be generous. You don't have to be retired or have a degree or be super spiritual to be generous. What the Generous Life does require is a "readiness to give."
